About Flight Assist

Flight Assist was established to enable General Aviation pilots and supporters to help people in need. We participate in disaster relief flights, environmental programs, medical flight services and similar programs where GA aircraft and pilots can make an important contribution.

Our Current Mission

350px-Boy_receiving_treatment_after_Haiti_earthquakeThe people of Haiti are hurting and we are helping.  Each day, pilots and aircraft owners from around the U.S. are flying critical supplies and personnel into remote regions of Haiti. While much of the media attention is centered on Port au Prince, many Haitians in outlying cities and towns are receiving critical care, food and supplies delivered by GA pilots who are flying into the smaller airports where large transport planes cannot go. Many of these flights are arranged by Bahamas Habitat www.bahamashabitat.org whose volunteers are doing an amazing job of coordinating the aviation effort. But the need for more pilots and aircraft is growing. Pilots who have been flying these missions are now returning to homes, jobs and families. Others are stepping up to help, but more are needed.

ext-5That is where Flight Assist comes in. Curt Dimmick and Ken Wittekiend are flying A Beechcraft Bonanza to Nassau, Bahamas where we will fly missions wherever we are needed. We will pick up supplies at the Bahamas Habitat command center and depart for Haiti each day.

How You Can Help

This is where YOU come in. We are asking for your financial help to cover the fuel costs. As any aircraft owner knows, fuel is only a small part of the total cost of operating an aircraft but that is all we are requesting.  We are providing our time, experience and skill to fly these missions. With your help, we will be able to sustain this effort during the days to come. Please make a tax deductible contribution to Anchor Christian Ministries’ Flight Assist fund. Anchor Christian Ministries is a 501c3 IRS registered charity so 100% of your money is tax deductible. Every penny goes to the relief effort.  We calculate that $650.00 will purchase a day’s worth of fuel,  based on 8 hours of flight time. But any amount will help. This is a unique opportunity to have a very direct impact with your donation and see the direct results of your assistance!
